Department of Information Studies Celebrates "Pitha Utsob"

The Department of Information Studies of East West University (EWU) hosted a colourful "Pitha Utsob" (a traditional cake festival) on February 20, 2025, at university rooftop. The event provided a delightful opportunity for the EWU community to celebrate Bangladeshi culture, tradition and values.
The festivities were graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chief Adviser and Founder Vice Chancellor of EWU along with his spouse, Mrs. Suraiya Farashuddin. Other distinguished guests included Mr. Mansoor Mumin, Member of the Board of Trustees; Professor Dr. M. Ashik Mosaddik, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Air Commodore (Retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Treasurer; and Professor Dr. Dilara Begum, Chairperson of the Department of Information Studies.
The colorful program was well-attended by various section heads of EWU, faculty members, officers, staff, and above all students, all of whom enjoyed the jovial and recreational atmosphere. Attendees had the chance to sample a wide array of traditional pithas, showcasing the rich culinary heritage of Bangladesh. “Pitha Utsob" served as a platform for the cultural exchange and community bonding, further strengthening the spirit of unity of the EWU family.
