East West University Observes International Mother Language Day

East West University (EWU) commemorated ‘Shaheed Day’ and International Mother Language Day with great solemnity and honoring the historic language movement of 1952 in Dhaka. This movement played a pivotal role in establishing Bangla as the official language and later contributed to the independence of Bangladesh.
To mark this significant day, EWU organized a rally, "Provat Fery," in the Aftabnagar area, followed by the laying of wreaths by the Board of Trustees, University Administrations, different departments and clubs of EWU, at the uniquely built 'Shaheed Minar' on the campus where wreaths were laid in a solemn ceremony to honor the sacrifices made for the mother tongue.
The event was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chief Adviser and founder Vice Chancellor of EWU, Mr. Nowshad Shamsul Arefin, Member, Board of Trustees, Mr. Mansoor Mumin, Member, Board of Trustees, Professor Dr. M. Ashik Mosaddik, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Air Cdre (Retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Treasurer, along with Deans, Registrar, Faculty Members, Officials, Staff, and many students of EWU.
